Maldives, Beautiful but Concerning

Hello there, I hope you are doing well.

It may still be hot these days, but not as much as it did before! Do you have any plans for the coming weekend?

A lot of us have looked forward to the Olympics, but now that it has been postponed to next year, some have started wondering whether it would actually happen or not. People are concerned not only with their health and safety, but also of the athletes and staff members. I read a few comments saying that instead of celebrating a competition, we should celebrate how the frontliners and medical staff members have worked together to take down the Coronavirus.

Today’s Rebus:

Here’s a brief explanation of the hint:

As you noticed, the letters, L R T A I are mixed up and your eyes would follow every letter. It would spell out the word, “TRAIL”, so the word would be “trail mix”!
If you’re wondering what it is, it’s a bag full of nuts and dried fruit mixed together!

Here’s for this week’s rebus:

MOUNT MOUNT MOUNT MOUNT MOUNT

MOUNT MOUNT MOUNT MOUNT MOUNT

HINT: This one’s really, really easy, but if I would give a hint, just count how many times the word is repeated!

I’ll reveal the answer next week!

Today’s ESL Recommendation:

https://www.esl-lounge.com/student/reading-elementary.php

Reading can be an intimidating way to study a new language, but esl-lounge.com is a beginner-friendly website which has a lot of reading materials that’s wasy to understand, but filled with natural phrases and comprehension exercises. I’ve seen the tests they had and I would say this would be perfect for beginner to intermediate students. Also, you can utilize both linguee.com and vocabulary.com here! I hope this helps!

Here is this week’s study music:

I am certain that most people here have heard of the country, Maldives. It has one of the most densely populated countries in the world, the city of Male. This means that this city has a high population. Also, Male is in the process of turning itself into a smart city, and it has also been considering landfills. And the reason for that is it’s in danger of being submerged due to the increasing sea levels. Read more for further details and again, please utilize both linguee.com and vocabulary.com!

Remember to take care of yourself and stay safe.
